Leo

Leo is an AKC-registered Havanese who joined our family in 2021 after a long-awaited trip to the airport—and it was love at first sight. From the start, he’s been the definition of a cuddle bug, giving the best snuggles and hugs imaginable. His exceptionally soft coat and warm, soulful eyes melt my heart every single day during our morning, afternoon, and evening snuggle sessions.

Leo absolutely loves spending time outdoors, even in the snow! His gentle, shy, and submissive personality helps him blend perfectly into our pack, where he enjoys plenty of playtime and companionship. He adores our girls and can always be found cuddling up with them—unless it’s time for his zoomies, of course.

We like to joke that Leo’s favorite pastimes are snuggling and parkour, and honestly, that sums him up perfectly.

Leo has been health tested through Embark Veterinary, which screens for more than 230 genetic conditions. His results show that he carries one copy of the Alanine Aminotransferase Activity (ALT) variant. This variant is not associated with disease but may result in lower-than-average ALT enzyme activity on blood panels, which veterinarians use to evaluate liver health. Because of this, it’s helpful for his vet to establish a baseline ALT value to interpret future results accurately.

From a breeding perspective, Leo will only be paired with females who are clear of this variant, ensuring optimal genetic balance and continued health in his offspring.

In addition, Leo tested clear for all breed-relevant genetic conditions and 232 additional genetic conditions. His Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) is a low 4%, reflecting excellent genetic diversity and vitality for a purebred Havanese.
